IMCS PAX ROMANA Africa, established in 1921, is a global organization uniting over 80 national federations of Catholic students in higher education. With a focus on promoting peace, justice, and intellectual and moral growth, IMCS operates in an advisory capacity to various United Nations bodies and engages with regional and international organizations. Established in Africa in 1956 and based in Nairobi since 1978, it is recognized by bishops' conferences in 25 countries with active members. The strategic plan for 2023-2027 centers on evangelization, sustainable development, environmental stewardship, peace, social justice, and faith, aiming to transform and empower students as global leaders.

CATHOLIC YOUTH LEADERS PROGRAM

Welcome to the Catholic Youth Leaders Program, a pioneering initiative designed to cultivate and enhance the skills of National Catholic youth leaders across Africa. This program, dedicated to the holistic development of young leaders, aims to equip them with the necessary tools and insights to effectively guide and inspire Catholic youth communities. Through a blend of theological education, leadership training, and practical skill development, participants will embark on a transformative journey, preparing them to be influential agents of change and stewards of faith in their respective communities. This fellowship is more than a training program; it is a commitment to nurturing a new generation of empowered, visionary Catholic leaders for a dynamic and evolving Africa.

Welcome to the Pray and Participate Youth Fellowship Program, a unique initiative aimed at empowering Catholic youths and youths in general to actively engage in democracy and human rights activities within tertiary institutions, their communities, and the nation at large across Africa. This program is dedicated to nurturing informed, proactive, and spiritually grounded young leaders who are committed to advocating for justice and peace. Through comprehensive training in democratic participation, human rights advocacy, and faith-based leadership, participants will be equipped to make significant contributions to their societies, embodying the values of their faith in public life. CLIMATE JUSTICE YOUTH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Welcome to the Climate Justice Fellowship Program, an innovative initiative designed to empower youth in embracing and advocating for environmental stewardship, inspired by teachings from Laudato Si', Laudate Deum, and Amazonia. This fellowship focuses on instilling a deep understanding of climate justice and the importance of protecting Mother Earth. Participants will delve into green entrepreneurship, climate advocacy, and climate research, gaining skills and knowledge to become influential environmental leaders. This program is a call to action for young people to actively contribute to a sustainable future, aligned with the principles of care and respect for our planet.

Mission

Organize, train and mobilize tertiary students to use their education and learning to become global transformational leaders

At the heart of our constituency is each student rom across the world who is a member. Students' life and education are inseparable. We are from various fields of study, coming together with our ideas and experiences to work together for peace and justice. IMCS is concerned with the students' development and the role education plays in their lives. Essentially, all our activities and projects aim to train, encourage them to participate and become innovative solution providers.

IMCS is not only a Church Movement but is "Church in the Movement". We are recognized by the Secretariat of State of the Holy See (Vatican) and the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life. "Your Movement received official recognition by the Holy See in 1921, and I am pleased that you have maintained your spirituality of action and fulfilled your mission of addressing the spiritual and material needs of young people in tertiary educational institutions throughout the world" Pope Francis, Letter to Pax Romana, 2022.
